About Steph

Since 2003, I’ve helped countless clients polish academic non-fiction, theses, journal articles, ad-copy, short stories, novels (including translated fiction), and general non-fiction.

I’ve also written reading guides for publishers’ books, which was fun because they facilitate the discussion of enthusiastic readers about the books they experience together.

I’ve been a student of creative writing and have had several writing mentors, as well as coached creative writing as a TA for Giller-nominee Sarah Selecky and her popular course Story is a State of Mind. I’ve been a member of the Editors’ Association of Canada and taken several of their courses.

Through writing my blog, Bella’s Bookshelves, I gained excellent clients, did work with the CBC, was invited to be on panels at literary events, and was asked to write guest posts or weigh in on award events.

I grew up in a library and have spent my life reading and writing, lending and selling books, and, of course, copy editing and helping writers show their best selves.
